Shafali Verma has had an excellent 2023 year so far on the cricket field and now off the field as well.
Shafali has had a busy 2023 thus far as she was on the field due to her professional commitments. Despite her busy schedule, the cricketer sat for exams and cleared them with flying colors.
She led the India U-19 squad to victory in the first youth Women’s T20 World Cup at the beginning of 2023. She contributed significantly to the team's victory and finished as the third-highest run scorer in the competition.
Shafali returned to South Africa for the senior T20 World Cup and was part of the squad that reached the semi-final. India lost to Australia in the knockout match.
In February, Shafali Verma was bought by the Delhi Capitals for INR 2 crores in the first-ever Women's Premier League (WPL) auction. Shafali struck 252 runs in 9 matches at 31.50 with a strike rate of 185.29 and smashed 13 sixes, joint-most in the tournament.
"2023 mei ek aur bohot special 80+ smash kiya, but iss baar 12th boards mei! I am very happy with my results and can’t wait to give my all to my favourite subject - cricket!" she wrote.
