The 37-year-old cricketer last played for India in the T20 World Cup 2022 and since then has been out of the plans of the national selection committee. However, he will be seen in IPL 2023 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), after they retained him ahead of the IPL 2023 auction.
Meanwhile, during the Twitter Q&A session, one fan shared the scorecard of his innings against New Zealand in the semifinal of the 2019 World Cup where he scored 6 runs in 25 balls.

During the session, Karthik all but confirmed that he will commentating during the Border-Gavaskar series. “How are u feeling about making a debut against Australia what are ur feelings about it?? Is it important to be a cricketer to be a commentator as most of the commentators are retired cricketers," another fan asked.
A fan asked him: “What is that one rumour about you, which you wished was true.” To which Karthik hilariously replied: “They are making a biopic on me”.
