Jansen made 66 in 27 balls with 3 fours and 7 sixes, winning Player of the Match award.
Marco Jansen, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape all-rounder played an innings of a lifetime to get his team a narrow 2-wicket win from a position where they looked down and out completely against MI Cape Town in the ongoing SA20 league.
Jansen, primarily known for his bowling prowess, showed some excellent hitting abilities as he smeared Afghanistan’s spin wizard Rashid Khan all over the ground. Needing 172 to win, Sunrisers looked all but out as they were 105/6 after 15 overs.
But then in the 16th over of the match, Jansen smashed Rashid Khan’s balls for 28 runs which included three sixes and one four, and even a dot ball.
With 7 sixes and 3 fours, Jansen amassed 66 runs off just 27 balls, and helped his team Sunrisers Eastern Cape defeat the table-toppers MI Cape Town by registering a thrilling 2-wicket victory.
