India U19's Mannat Kashyap ran out South Africa's Jenna Evans at non-striker's end, though she was called back.
Openers Shweta Sehrawat and Soumya Tiwari scored 40 each off 39 and 46 balls respectively to guide India to 137 for five after being asked to bat. In reply, South Africa only managed to score 83 runs.
However, the match came into headlines as Indian spinner Mannat Kashyap ran out non-striker Jenna Evans for backing up too far out of the crease in the 17th over of the South African innings.
The video soon went viral on social media. Eventually India captain Shafali Verma took back the appeal and the match went ahead.
However, England women’s batting star Danielle Wyatt was not impressed with Mannat’s run out and tried to troll the Indian U19 team saying that she hopes none of this happens at the U19 World Cup. Danni Wyatt tweeted: "Oh no I hope there's none of this in the u19 WC!"
England has been particularly sour about the runouts at the non-striker end ever since Deepti Sharma performed the run out of Charlie Dean in the third and final ODI at Lord’s which led to England losing a close encounter and the series as well 3-0.
Multiple England former and current cricketers slammed Deepti Sharma for winning the match in this way, despite journalist Peter Della Penna documenting that Dean had left the crease for over more than 70 times.
Therefore, when Danielle Wyatt shared her opinion on India U19 star running out the non-striker and trying to mock the Indian team, she was given a swift payback and was roasted by Twitterati for her attitude.
