Flintoff got into a car crash while filming for BBC's Top Gear show.
As per reports, Flintoff's injuries aren't life-threatening and the former all-rounder was driving on the track as normal and not driving at high speed. He was given medical care before being airlifted to the hospital.
"Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning - with crew medics attending the scene immediately. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course,” the BBC said in a statement.
This is the second time in recent times Flintoff has been involved in a mishap while filming for the show. In 2019, he walked away safely from a 125mph crash, admitting later that he had gone a few lengths too far.
"All the usual health and safety measures were in place for filming too. Freddie was taken to hospital by air ambulance shortly afterwards. Filming has been postponed for now and all anyone cares about is Freddie recovering,” The Sun reported.
Flintoff joined Top Gear as a host in 2019 and co-stars in the show with Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris. Before becoming a TV star, Flintoff played 79 Tests, 141 one-day internationals, and seven T20s for England before retiring from the game in 2009.
Meanwhile, several former cricketers who played with Andre Flintoff on the field took to Twitter to send across best wishes for quick recovery.
