This was England's fourth win in Pakistan and first series win since 2000-01.
England came into this Test with a brilliant win on a flat wicket in Rawalpindi in the first match and began well with Ben Stokes winning the toss.
After Ben Duckett’s 63 and Ollie Pope’s 60 and valuable contributions from others, the visitors posted 281 in their first do. Debutant Abrar Ahmed picked 7/114 in his first outing for Pakistan.
In reply, Pakistan captain Babar Azam made 75 and Saud Shakeel made 63 runs as Jack Leach picked 4/98 to keep the home team to 202 runs.
The chase saw Saud Shakeel impressing once again by scoring 94 runs, while Imam Ul Haq made 60 and Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Nawaz made 45 runs each. But the England bowlers kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Abrar Ahmed with 17 runs, kept the excitement in the chase.
Agha Salman tried his best to shepherd the tailenders, but the England bowlers were too good for that with Mark Wood picking 4/65 and Ollie Robinson finishing the innings with the wicket of Mohammad Ali as Pakistan was bowled out for 328 runs.
England won the Test by 26 runs, only their fourth Test win in Pakistan, and also took an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series with the third and final Test to be played in Karachi from December 17.
The Cricket fraternity was all praises for the England team for their brilliant victory and lauded them on Twitter.
