India opener Shikhar Dhawan is celebrating his 37th birthday today December 5, 2022, and received wishes from Indian cricketers on social media.

Dhawan, made his ODI debut for India in 2010 against Australia, scoring a duck, but his Test debut against the same opposition in 2013 was much better as he smashed 187 runs in his first outing.

He remained a vital cog in India’s plans from then on and earned the moniker of Mr. ICC thanks to his amazing performances in ICC events for India as he won the golden bat in ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and other valuable performances thereafter.

He played 34 Tests for India, scoring 2315 runs with 7 centuries to his name and a best of 190. He also played 68 T20Is with 1759 runs to his name with a best of 92.

However, Dhawan’s best outings have been in the ODI format, where he has 6782 runs in 165 ODIs with 17 centuries to his name and the best score of 143. He has also captained India in the interim in ODIs and T20Is, attaining T20I and ODI series wins against West Indies and South Africa.

Today as he turns 37 and aims to play for India in 2023 World Cup, his teammates, current and former took to Twitter to wish ‘Gabbar’, as he is lovingly known, a very happy birthday.
