Virat Kohli is celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday (November 5).
Indian sports journalists who are currently in Australia to cover the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022 made Virat Kohli’s birthday special with their special gesture at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne on Saturday (November 5).
After cutting cake with the Indian cricket team members, Kohli arrived at the MCG, where the sports journalists were waiting for the batting superstar to present him with a surprise.
All the journalists assembled in Melbourne and arranged a cake for Kohli, who is celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday. After India's practise session, Kohli joined the journalists and celebrated his birthday with them.
Before cutting the cake, the former Indian skipper was presented a greeting card by a veteran sports journalist, which left the star batter a little overwhelmed.
While everyone was waiting for a knife to cut the cake, Kohli asked “Are ye kya hai? (Oh what is this?)” while seeing the greeting card. Then, he cracked a joke with the reporters by saying: “Aap logo ne toh kabhi nahi bhej cake mujhe. (You guys never sent me a cake before).”
Kohli can be heard saying further: “Thank you! Very nice gesture. This is a historic venue and all the media people are here, so it's a very nice gesture. Kya baat hai, bada swad hai. Kaun laya ye? Main toh pura khauga (Wow, this is so tasty. Who got this? I'll have the entire cake).”
