India and South Africa are currently engaged in the second of the three-match ODI series at Ranchi, with the visitors leading the series 1-0 after their 9-run win in Lucknow.

South Africa's stand-in captain Keshav Maharaj won the toss and chose to bat first while making three changes as Reeza Hendricks, Anrich Nortje, and Bjorn Fortuin replaced Temba Bavuma, Lungi Ngidi and Tabraiz Shamsi. India also made couple of changes with debutant Shahbaz Nadeem replacing Ruturaj Gaikwad and Washington Sundar coming in for Ravi Bishnoi.

South Africa posted 278/7 on the board after Hendricks (74) and Aiden Markram (79) scored brilliant half-centuries, with Heinrich Klaasen (30) and David Miller (35*) also providing important contributions. Mohammed Siraj was the most successful bowler for India, picking up 3/38.

Siraj, interestingly, had a fiery moment in the 48th over of the innings where he tried to run out the non-striker David Miller with a direct-hit but missed the stumps by a small margin and the ball ended up going all the way to the boundary for four runs.

Siraj, bizarrely argued with the umpire Virender Sharma for a while after conceding the overthrows as he wanted it to be called a dead ball, but the argument was a tad illogical as he was going for the run out which he would have got in his favour had he hit the stumps.
