Ace Indian keeper Rishabh Pant is celebrating his 25th birthday today, October 4, 2022. Born in Uttarakhand, Pant was part of the India U19 side during the 2016 World Cup where the team made it into the finals.

He moved up through the ranks and dazzled everyone with his amazing and daring strokeplay in the IPL for Delhi Capitals. He had two back-to-back good IPL seasons and even scored a triple century for Delhi in Ranji Trophy and as a result, made his debut for India in 2017.

He was seen as the next big thing in ‘Indian Cricket’ despite having poor returns in his first few international outings. His keeping was criticized a lot and at one time, Indian team management even preferred KL Rahul as their no.1 keeper over Pant after MS Dhoni retired.

However, he was still solid with the bat as Test centuries in England and Australia came, but the milestone point in his career will remain India's tour to Australia 2020-21. Though Wriddhiman Saha was the no.1 choice keeper for India, who kept wickets in first Test in Adelaide.

Injuries and Virat Kohli’s absence brought Pant back into the XI and he helped save the third Test in Sydney with a scintillating 97-run knock and then created history with 89* in Brisbane, when India won the Test and the series in Australia.

His limited overs gains have not been that good as compared to Tests, but he recently scored his maiden ODI century in England and it feels like a proper run in the top order in the XI will result in a huge confidence booster for him.

At present, he has 2123 runs in 31 Tests with 5 centuries and 10 fifties with a best of 159*. In 27 ODIs, he has 840 runs with one ton and 5 fifties and in 61 T20Is, he has 934 runs with 3 fifties to his name.

He has been named in India’s T20 World Cup 2022 squad and much will be expected of him in Australia on pitches, where he likes to bat.

Many former cricketers, experts, and his teammates wished him on his birthday.

Here are some wishes:
