England defeated Pakistan 4-3 in 7-match series.
England posted 209/3 thanks to a half-century from Dawid Malan (78*) and contributions from Ben Duckett (30) and Harry Brook (46*). In the chase, Pakistan was never in contention of overhauling the total after opener Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan got out early. Shan Masood hit a fifty, while Khushdil Shah made 27.
Talking in the post-match press conference, Babar said that winning and losing are part and parcel of the game. “Yeh dekhiye khubsurti hai cricket ki kabhi aap jeete hai kabhi aap haarte hain. (This is the beauty of the game of cricket, sometimes you lose, some times you win),” he said.
Pakistani cricket fans then compared Babar Azam’s statement with that of coach Saqlain Mushtaq, who had said that losing and winning were acts of nature or ‘Kudrat ka nizam’, like day and night.
While some fans recalled Mushtaq's unusual 'day and night' comment, others triggered a meme fest to troll the Pakistan captain on the microblogging site.
