Moeen Ali hailed England's efforts after winning T20I series with a 4-3 margin against Pakistan.
England finished its first tour to Pakistan in 17 years with a 4-3 win in the seven-match T20I series on Sunday (October 2) at the Gadaffi Cricket Stadium in Lahore.
An unbeaten half-century by Dawid Malan (78*) and a dominant show from pacers Chris Woakes (3/26) and David Willey (2/22) helped England to register a thumping 67-run win over Pakistan in the seventh and final T20I and seal a highly-entertaining T20I series 4-3 in Lahore on Sunday.
After a remarkable T20I series win in Pakistan, England’s stand-in skipper Moeen Ali expressed happiness with his team’s overall performance in the series and thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the smooth organization of the series.
Moeen Ali said in a post-match presentation: “Brilliant game from us, we played well from the start. I thought our bowling was outstanding, throughout the series we bowled really well. When the team is batting like that, it gives a lot of confidence. Credit to the boys for the way they played. We needed two must-win games. It was amazing to see how we won the last two games. Also shows the depth we have in our squad. I just want to say thank you to everyone, and the PCB for looking after us.”
The England all-rounder also compared the food available in Karachi and Lahore. But Ali was satisfied with the security arrangements made by Pakistan during the T20I series.
He signed off by saying, “Food wise. I've been a little bit disappointed in Lahore. Karachi was really nice. The security has been outstanding and much more than we expected. We were looked after very well.”
