India Legends beat Sri Lanka Legends by 33 runs in the final.
Sachin Tendulkar's India Legends clinched their second Road Safety World Series (RSWS) title after defeating Sri Lanka Legends by 33 runs in the final played on October 1 in Raipur.
Indians had beaten the Sri Lankans by 14 runs in the finale of the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2021 and history repeated itself on Saturday.
Tendulkar won the toss in the final and chose to bat first despite the dew factor which surprised the commentators at the time but his decision was proven correct by wicketkeeper-batter Naman Ojha as he smashed an unbeaten 108 in 71 balls to help India Legends finish at 195/6. Tendulkar (0) and Suresh Raina (4) had an off-night but Ojha's innings along with Vinay Kumar's 36 in 21 balls playing the role of pinch-hitter proved to be crucial.
In reply, Sri Lanka Legends were bowled out for 162 in the 19th over with Vinay picking up three wickets and Abhimanyu Mithun taking two. Ishan Jayratne scored 51 in 22 balls but it was too late for the Sri Lankan side to mount a challenge as India Legends completed a clinical 33-run win.
Naman Ojha was expectedly named the Player-of-the-Match, while Sri Lanka Legends' skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan bagged the Player-of-the-Tournament award for the second time.
Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina and Pragyan Ojha later shared some pictures and video clips from the team celebrations on their Instagram handles.
