Indian cricket fraternity wishes Suresh Raina all the luck as he announces retirement from all formats

Raina played 205 IPL matches scoring over 5,500 runs with one century and 39 fifties.

Suresh Raina, one of the most electric cricketers India has ever produced, announced his retirement from all forms of the game including the IPL on September 6, 2022. He had previously retired from international cricket in 2020.

In a 13-year international career, Raina played for India in 18 Tests, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is. He also had the honor of momentarily leading the group as captain. For India, Raina scored 5615 runs in 226 ODIs and 1605 runs in 78 T20Is.

Raina, who won the IPL four times with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), went unsold in the IPL 2022 mega auction after being released by the CSK. He featured in the commentary panel for the tournament.

In 205 IPL matches, Raina made 5528 runs with one century and 39 fifties at an average of 32.52 and strike rate of 136.76. He hit 203 sixes and 506 fours in the tournament and took 108 catches as well.

After his retirement from international cricket, Raina was playing only IPL and had minimal participation in domestic cricket. With his retirement from all forms of the game, Raina has shown intentions of playing in foreign T20 leagues and revealed getting offers from franchises in the SA20 and UAE’s ILT20.

Today as he brings down the curtains on his career in India, he received lots of love and tributes from his fans and others. The Indian cricket fraternity also joined in by sending across wishes to the left-hander on Twitter.
