Indian cricket fraternity lauds Neeraj Chopra after he wins silver at World Athletics Championships

Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal in javelin with a throw of 88.13m.

India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra made history at the ongoing World Athletics Championships 2022 in Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States. Chopra became only the second Indian to win a medal at the event by grabbing a silver in the javelin throw with a distance of 88.13m.

The other Indian in the javelin throw event, Rohit Yadav finished 10th in the final standing of the event. At the same time, the current Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra won the silver award, becoming only the second athlete to win a medal at the event, after Anju Bobby George in 2003.

Anderson Peters from Grenada won the gold medal, while Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic won the bronze medal.

While at the Olympics in Japan, Neeraj Chopra became the first Asian male javelin thrower to win a gold at the event and now became the first man from Asia to win a World Championship medal in the javelin throw.

With Neeraj Chopra making India proud once again, the Indian cricket fraternity took to Twitter to laud his brilliance and praised Chopra’s achievement on the world stage.
