Dwaraka Bhamidipati (DB) Ravi Teja, one of the unsung names of Indian domestic cricket, shared an amazing anecdote about his former U15 teammate Virat Kohli. Both met in London recently and shared some fond memories with one another.

Kohli has been in England for the rescheduled fifth Test match, the T20I, and ODI series. However, his rotten luck with the bat continued as he failed to score a half-century in the Test while making only 12 runs in the two T20Is he played in. He missed the first ODI due to a groin strain.

Meanwhile, DB Ravi Teja is known for playing for Hyderabad in Ranji Trophy before moving to Meghalaya. He played 78 FC games, 85 List-A matches, and 89 T20 matches overall before retiring from the game.

He was also part of the Indian Premier League, playing for Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad, and won the IPL in 2009 with Deccan Chargers under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist.

Dwaraka Ravi Teja shared a photo with Virat Kohli on his social media account and posted an interesting short story about why they call each other ‘Chiru’.

Met him after 6 long years after IPL in UK and the first thing he tells me is Chiru kaisa hai tu?
Throwback to U-15 days when we were roommates and I used to watch Chiranjeevi’s songs on tv and he used to dance to them and from then on we never called each other by our names and Chiru was the nickname we gave each other and whenever we met post that we always called each other Chiru. Such fond memories and even after so many years everything still felt the same and nothing has changed. It was great seeing u Chiru and hope to meet u again super soon,” Ravi Teja posted on his Instagram.
