Sri Lanka and Australia are currently locking horns in the second Test in Galle. Batting first, after winning the toss, the visitors had a decent outing in the first innings. On account of Steve Smith’s unbeaten 145 and Marnus Labuschagne’s 104 runs, they posted a total of 364 runs.

In reply, Sri Lanka responded strongly with the bat as skipper Dimuth Karunanratne (86), Kusal Mendis (85), and Angelo Mathews (52) kept them in the hunt.

During Sri Lanka’s innings, an incident took place which left many in splits. Australian opener David Warner sent a hilarious message to the broadcaster via stump mic.

During the fag end of the day, Mathews complained about getting disturbed as his line of sight was interrupted by the people roaming around in the press boxes above the sightscreen, especially Australian journalist Geoff Lemon, who was wearing a highly visible yellow shirt.

Mathews after telling the problem to the umpire also spoke to Warner about the same. The southpaw seized the opportunity to have some fun and went near to the stump mic and said: “Broadcast, can you tell Geoff Lemon to sit down, in the yellow. Batsman is frustrated, please.”

After the incident, Lemon replied to Warner on his Twitter account and downplayed the brightness of the shirt he had been wearing. “Actually, David, it’s more of a beige and cinnamon,” Lemon said.
