Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for a 11-ball duck during the warm-up game.
The Indian cricket team and Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) are currently facing each other in a four-day warm-up match at the Uptonsteel County Ground in Leicester. This match is part of India’s preparation for the rescheduled Test against England, starting on July 1 at Edgbaston.
Well, this match is an interesting one as some of the Indian players are playing against their teammates in the warm-up match. The four players, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna, are turning up for the Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) against Team India in the ongoing four-day warm-up match in order to get game-time ahead of the final Test.
Coming back to the match, there was an interesting incident fans got to see during the opening day of the warm-up match, as LCCC’s pacer Krishna took some advice from his Indian teammate Virat Kohli to dismiss Shreyas Iyer for a duck, and interestingly the catch was taken by Pant.
At the end of the 19th over, Kohli was seen having a conversation with Krishna, as the former skipper was seen giving some bowling advice to the opposition bowler, at least for this warm-up match, and Krishna tasted success immediately on the first ball of his next over.
Iyer, who was already struggling against pacers, attempted to play the ball outside his off-stump through the covers, but it took the thick outside edge, and wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant easily took the catch to dismiss his Indian teammate for a duck.
