It all happened in the clash between Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
This match was being played between Nottinghamshire and Warwickshire at Edgbaston, where Carlos Brathwaite and his opponent Samit Patel both got retired out in the latter part of their team’s innings.
In a rain-curtailed fixture, which was reduced to 8 overs per side, Warwickshire posted 98/5 on the board on the back of Chris Benjamin’s 17-ball 36.
Skipper Brathwaite arrived in the middle in the 5th over and slammed 11-ball 17 with two fours and one six. However, he retired out at the end of the 7th over with his team’s score at 80/4. Sam Hein replaced him in the middle.
During the chase, Samit Patel did the same thing. He came into bat in the final over with Nottinghamshire needing 15 runs and retired out after scoring only two runs off as many balls.
Coming to the match, Warwickshire won the match by one run and moved to second on the points table in the North Group.
