Ace Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Glenn Maxwell took to social media and cheered for his former franchise, the Mumbai Indians (MI) as they clashed against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 69th match of the IPL 2022 on May 21 in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

This is mostly because the hopes of RCB qualifying for the IPL 2022 playoffs is dependent on the result of this encounter between DC and MI.

If DC wins this match, they go through to the playoffs and will play Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator on May 25. However, if MI wins this match, then RCB will go through to the playoffs and face off against LSG on Wednesday.

After the RCB had defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) to stay alive in the playoffs race, Glenn Maxwell had said: "We'll be probably watching the Mumbai v Delhi game pretty closely. I wouldn't mind a round of golf (Friday). There will be a bit of rehab going on. But I think the guys will stay really focused. The amount of hard work and effort that has gone into this team this year. We feel like we deserve to be in the final four and, hopefully, Mumbai will do the right thing by us and get us into the final four.”

Maxwell recently took to his Instagram and posted a story with a photo of him with MI captain Rohit Sharma during his days with the franchise. Maxwell played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2013, the year MI first won the tournament.
