Australia ended their historic tour of Pakistan on a high, winning Test and T20I series.
Australian team ended their historic tour of Pakistan on a high as the Aaron Finch-led Kangaroos thrashed the Men in Green by three wickets in a last-over thriller to win the one-off T20I at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday (April 5).
On the historic tour, Australia traveled to Pakistan for the first time in 24 years, and on the historic tour, the tourists won the Test series 1-0, but they had to face defeat in the ODI series 1-2 against the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team.
However, Australia managed to finish their historic tour with a stunning win in the one-off T20I.
Batting first in the one-off T20I match played in Lahore on April 5, Pakistan scored 162 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. In this match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam made 66 runs in 46 balls, laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes.
For Australia, Nathan Ellis snared four wickets while conceding 28 runs in four overs, while debutant Cameron Green also scalped two wickets in the one-off T20I in Lahore.
In response, Finch scored 55 runs off 45 balls, as well as shared a 40-run opening stand with Travis Head (26) to take Australia over the line with 3 wickets in hand and 5 balls to spare against Pakistan to finish the historic tour on a high.
Well, the Australians won the match, but broke the hearts of several Pakistani fans, including a special boy, as a girl was expected to accept his proposal if the hosts had won the one-off T20I.
A Pakistani cricket fan came to the match with a placard that said "If Pakistan wins, I'll say Yes."
However, the cameraman chose the wrong timing to pan the camera onto her, as Ben McDermott smashed a boundary off pacer Haris Rauf on the first delivery of the final over to win the match for Australia.
After the match, the poster girl went viral on Twitter and fans were cheekily trying to pull their leg, while most of the fans felt bad for the boy as Australia denied him acceptance.
