He was also a part of the Kolkata Tigers in 2007’s private league in Indian Cricket League (ICL). Then between 2009 and 2010, he also played in the IPL and represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In 2012, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Rohan is currently working as a commentator in IPL 2022. Recently, a social media troll questioned his career.

"@rohangava9 is now commentator in #IPL2022. When did he played and retired actually. Am I missing #Cricket," a Twitter user said.

Replying to this, Gavaskar posted a picture of himself playing cricket during his childhood and said that it’s the proof that he played cricket.

“Proof that I did play cricket," replied Rohan.
