Ajinkya Rahane's place in the Test side is uncertain after his poor batting form lately.

India batter Ajinkya Rahane's form has been under scrutiny after his consistent batting failures in the last few series. Rahane, who had scored a hundred at Melbourne Cricket Ground on the 2020-21 Australia tour, wasn't able to continue the same form last year.

In 2021, Rahane had an average of 20.82 in 2021 after scoring 479 runs in 13 games. He managed just two fifties and no century with the best knock of 67 runs.

With a lack of success in every series, more fingers are being pointed at the 33-year-old's place in the Test side. Renowned journalist Boria Majumdar questioned Rahane about the outer noise to drop him from the team on the show 'Backstage with Boria'.

Rahane opened up for the first time on his batting form criticism and said, "I just smile at it. People who generally know the sport will not talk like that. I don't want to get too deep into that. Everyone knows it, you know it, what happened in Australia.

"Even after and before Australia the contributions I made, especially in red-ball cricket, I don't want to talk about it but Australia was really. As I said, people who know the sport, love the sport they'll talk sensibly."

Boria explained that a batter feels from inside if he is not in a good form, and Rahane has looked in good touch although he failed to convert the starts into a big score. When asked if he gets that confident feeling that there is more cricket left in him, the ex-India Test vice-captain responded with a positive answer.

"Yes I am confident about my own ability, I am batting really well and I believe in my ability. And I still believe I have good cricket left in me," he said at the end of the teaser video for 'Backstage with Boria'.
