Tendulkar's management team confirmed that the Indian batter great won’t feature in the tournament.
The tournament, featuring retired players, is slated to get underway in Oman from January 20.
Tendulkar's management team 'SRT Sports management' confirmed that the Indian batter great won’t be seen in action during the tournament.
Taking to Twitter, the company's official spokesperson wrote: "The news about @sachin_rt’s participation in ‘Legends League Cricket’ is not true. The organisers should refrain from misleading cricket fans and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan."
The clarification came after an advertisement of the event featuring legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan showed Tendulkar's name as one of the players who has signed up for the tournament.
Soon after the statement from Tendulkar's team, Amitabh issued an apology and shared a new promotional clip for the event.
"CORRECTION : Legends League Cricket T20 , FINAL promo .. apologies .. and regrets for any inconvenience caused .. the error was inadvertent ..", Bachchan tweeted.
The squad for India, which will be called 'The Indian Maharajas', has already been announced and it includes the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, and Munaf Patel.
Apart from Indian Maharajas, there are two other teams, 'Asia Lions' and 'World Giants'. Asia Lions has named players from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka, while the squad of World Giants is yet to be revealed.
