England ended day two on 13/0 in reply to Australia's 416/8d.
Resuming from 126/3 on day two, Stuart Broad got rid of Steve Smith after he made 67, while Usman Khawaja made 137 runs with 13 fours in his amazing knock. Khawaja had replaced Travis Head in the playing XI, was playing his first Test in three years, and took the attack to England bowlers.
He then got some help from the lower order as Pat Cummins (24) and Mitchell Starc (34*) helped Australia post 416/8d.
For England, the best bowler was the recalled Stuart Broad who finished with 5/101, while James Anderson, Mark Wood, and Joe Root picked one wicket apiece.
England openers Haseeb Hameed and Zak Crawley managed to keep the Australian batters at bay as the visitors ended day two on 13/0.
Meanwhile, the cricketing fraternity was all praises for the centurion Usman Khawaja who was played brilliant shots all around the Sydney Cricket Ground and looked comfortable against both pace and spin.
He received wide acclaim for his amazing knock on Twitter and here are some of the best tweets for you.
