Steve Smith is currently part of Australia's Ashes 2021-22 squad.
Australia vice-captain Steve Smith got stuck in a lift at a Melbourne hotel and he had to spend an hour there before help came for him. He recorded the moment from inside the lift and posted it on his Instagram story.
The lift was out of service and Smith, being the only guy in the lift, couldn't do much but wait for the hotel staff to help him. Smith's teammate Marnus Labuschagne was also in the video as he passed some chocolates through the gap.

"I'm on my floor, I'm staying on this level but the doors won't open," Smith said. "Out of service up there apparently. I've tried to get the door open; I've got this side open, Marnus (Labuschagne) is on the other side trying to open that to not much avail.
"Not quite the evening I had planned, let's be honest."
The 32-year-old even made a hilarious dancing video through Instagram filters. "Well, I’m just taking a seat. What else do you do when you’re stuck in a lift? I could be here for a while. Anyone got any suggestions for what I can do?” he further said.
"Not much fun though, not really enjoying it here."
Finally, Smith made his way out of the lift and he acknowledged the applauds by raising his hand. "Safely back in the room. Finally, out of the lift. That certainly was an experience. 55 minutes I will probably never get back," he said.
Smith is currently part of Australia's squad for the ongoing Ashes series. They have taken an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the series with two more matches to go.
