One of India's most successful spinners, Harbhajan Singh on Friday (December 24) bid adieu to all forms of cricket.

Having made his India debut in 1998, the 41-year-old played 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is. While the off-spinner claimed 417 wickets in red-ball cricket, he picked up 269 wickets and 25 scalps in ODIs and T20Is respectively.

"All good things come to an end and today as I bid adieu to the game that has given me everything in life, I would like to thank everyone who made this 23-year-long journey beautiful and memorable," he confirmed his retirement through a tweet.

Harbhajan, who made his India debut during an ODI against New Zealand at Sharjah in 1998, last played for the country in an Asia Cup 2016 match against UAE at Dhaka.

One of the highlights of Harbhajan’s international career was the 2001 Test series against Australia at home, in which he snapped 32 wickets from three matches, including the first hat-trick in the longest format by an Indian.

Fondly known as the Turbanator, Harbhajan Singh was an integral part of the Indian team across formats in the 2000s and was part of the sides that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup.

As Harbhajan called time on his cricket career, not only fans but members of the Indian cricket fraternity took to Twitter to pay their tributes to the great off-spinner.
