Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya opened for Mumbai Indians for three seasons.
Sri Lankan batting legend Sanath Jayasuriya reacted to a nostalgic photo posted by five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians of him and Sachin Tendulkar.
Both Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya were part of Mumbai Indians from the inaugural season of the tournament in 2008. While the former continued to play for the franchise till 2013, the Sri Lanka opener represented the team for just three seasons.
Mumbai Indians posted a picture of Sachin Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya batting together in a nostalgic memory on their Twitter.
“You are officially old now if you remember this duo opening the batting for MI,” Mumbai Indians captioned the picture.
Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya reacted to the iconic picture posted by the franchise featuring him and Sachin Tendulkar and tweeted: “unforgettable memories.”
The picture even made veteran Indian off-spinner and former MI player Harbhajan Singh nostalgic as he tweeted "remember old is gold.”
Notably, Sachin Tendulkar captained Mumbai Indians in 51 matches and led his side to victory in 30 games. He was a prolific run-getter for the franchise during his time in the IPL with 2334 runs.
On the other hand, Sanath Jayasuriya scored 768 runs in 30 matches at a staggering strike rate of 144.36 for Mumbai Indians. He also registered a century and 4 half-centuries for the franchise.
