India wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik who is currently in the UK, enjoying his commentary stint with Sky Sports is all set to make his way back on the field as a cricketer as he will be joining Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the UAE-leg of IPL 2021.

While the Indian contingent of the Kolkata-based franchise has already left for UAE, Karthik is expected to join the group soon.

The Tamil-Nadu based batsman who began his commentary stint with the final of World Test Championship (WTC) at Southampton, also went on to commentate in the inaugural edition of ‘The Hundred’ followed by the ongoing Test series between England and India.

But, with the second-leg of IPL 2021 beginning from September 19 with KKR playing their campaign opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on September 20, Dinesh Karthik popularly known as 'DK' will be leaving the commentary team after the conclusion of the third Test match.

Thus, after DK’s announcement of leaving the UK soon, one of his passionate followers, came up with a special message for him when he came for the third Test at Headingley in Leeds.

“DK we’ll miss your analytical skills,” wrote the fan on a banner he showed to the cameras during Day 3 of the Leeds Test. Karthik, who is quite active on social media was touched by this message as he responded to the fan by writing, “All of your love made my tour even more special”.
