The Australian cricket team stopped their training for a while to catch Mitchell Starc's brother Brandon Starc in action at the Tokyo Olympics from Dhaka on Sunday (August 1). Brandon was competing for a medal in the men's high jump event.

The official Instagram account of cricket.com.au shared a video of the Aussie cricketers cheering for Brandon. They were glued to the live stream when Brandon was aiming for a medal.

Brandon couldn't secure a medal in the event after finishing fifth in the men's high jump final with a distance of 2.35 meters. His brother, Mitchell could be seen disappointed in the video after Brandon fell short of the medal.

Qatar's Mutaz Essa Barshim and Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi shared the gold medal after finishing on top while Belarus' Maksim Nedasekau won the bronze medal with a jump of 2.37m.

"Scenes from Dhaka last night as the Aussies put training on hold to watch Brandon Starc, Mitch's brother, compete in the #Tokyo2020 Olympic high jump final," wrote cricket.com.au on Instagram.

Australia are in Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series, starting from August 3. Alex Carey will be leading the Australian side as the likes of Pat Cummins, Aaron Finch, Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell are on a break.
