Manika Batra defeated Ukraine's Margaryta Pesotska in Table Tennis women's single Round 2.
Indian paddler Manika Batra won the Round 2 of Women's single Table Tennis by defeating higher-ranked Ukraine's Margaryta Pesotska on Sunday (July 25). She lost the first two games but made a strong comeback to win the round by 4-3 (4-11, 4-11, 11-7, 12-10, 8-11, 11-5, 11-7).
It was a nerve-wracking game but Manika showed good composure under pressure to qualify for Round 3. India's cricket fraternity was in awe of Batra's gameplay and they lauded her fight back.

Former India batsman Virender Sehwag praised Batra and wrote, "That was an outstanding comeback by Manika Batra to win that. Bahut bahut badhiya. Just one step away from a medal #Tokyo2020."
Even ex-cricketer VVS Laxman applauded her effort to secure a place in Round 3. "That was a brilliant comeback by @manikabatra_TT . Absolutely Superb win. #Tokyo2020," his tweet read.
Mohammad Kaif echoed similar words and he wrote, "Wah wah #manikabatra bahut khoob ???????? what a comeback !! #Tokyo2020".
India has won only one medal in the Olympics 2020 till now. Mirabai Chanu had become the second-ever Indian female weightlifter after Karnam Malleswari to win an Olympic weightlifting medal on Saturday.
