India's wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant tested positive for COVID-19 during the three-week break after the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final and he is currently in isolation. India's backup wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha is also in 10-day isolation after coming in close contact with another COVID-19 positive staff member.
Dinesh Karthik posted a picture on Twitter and subtly hinted that he's available to play if India needs a wicket-keeper batsman on England tour. He is in the United Kingdom for a commentary role with Sky Sports.
Karthik shared a photo of his kitbag which had his IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders' logo on it. He captioned the post, "just saying" and added an emoji.
The 36-year-old had earlier said that he has targeted the next two ICC T20 World Cups as his 'primary objective'. "Playing the next two T20 World Cups is my primary objective," Karthik had told 100MB Master Blaster in an interview.
Team India will play a five-match Test series against England, starting August 4. Before the series, India is going to play a three-day warm-up match against Select County XI. It will be played at the Emirates Riverside in Chester-le-Street Durham starting from July 20. Pant has not traveled with them for the warm-up match.
