Dinesh Karthik said the one-liner on air during the second ODI between England and Sri Lanka.
India cricketer Dinesh Karthik has been in a new role since the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final as a commentator. He is currently part of the Sky Sports commentary panel for the ongoing limited-overs series between England and Sri Lanka.
While Karthik has been at his best with the witty one-liners and cricket inputs, he took fans by surprise with his attempt at a joke during the second ODI between England and Sri Lanka on Thursday (July 1).

During England’s run-chase, Karthik made a joke on how batsmen don't like their own bats. “Batsmen and not liking bats, they go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat, or…” he was quoted as saying.
After setting it up, he delivered the punchline and said, “Bats are like a neighbor’s wife. They always feel better."
Karthik has received appreciation for his commentary, but this one-liner saw mixed reactions from the viewers on social media. While some found it in bad taste, few were rolling on the floor laughing.
