Tendulkar is widely regarded as the greatest batsman to have played for India.
In a career spanning 24 years, Sachin played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs for India, scoring the world record number of runs (15921 in Tests and 18426 in ODIs) and centuries (51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs).
He also holds the record for being the first man to score 10,000 runs in ODI cricket, first batsman to score 100 international centuries, first male cricketer to score a double ton in ODIs, most matches played in both formats and other numerous milestones.
Tendulkar also left his mark in ICC Cricket World Cup. He boasts the record of most runs, most centuries, most fifties in the showpiece event. While Sachin was the Player-of-the-Tournament in the 2003 edition of World Cup, he played an instrumental role in India’s 2011 World Cup triumph, scoring 482 runs from 9 matches.
The batting maestro retired from international cricket in 2013. After his retirement, he was bestowed with India’s highest civilian award – Bharat Ratna.
