The second T20I between South Africa and Pakistan saw one of the easiest catches being missed as Pakistan’s Sharjeel Khan made a mess that was caught on camera.

Pakistan was defending a paltry score of 140/9, looking for wickets to put South Africa under pressure. Leg-spinner Usman Qadir had picked two wickets Aiden Markram for 54 and Pite van Biljon for 2 runs.

He could have had a third wicket, but Sharjeel’s comical miss cost him that wicket.

In the incident which occurred on the third ball of the 13th over during South Africa’s run chase, George Linde took the aerial route against spinner Usman Qadir. Linde’s big hit didn’t go too far in distance but got a lot of height. Sharjeel was fielding at the long-on position and in an ideal setting, it would have been a regulation catch for him.

However, the opener lost sight of the ball in the sky and ran forward a couple of yards ahead of where the ball landed, well inside the ropes. It was cut off by long-off fielder Shaheen Afridi who came running from his position.

The Pakistan opener had his hands open wide as he turned out to see the ball picked up by his teammate.
