NZ v BAN 2021: WATCH - Trent Boult donates his Player of the Match $500 prize money to hometown club

Boult gave a match-winning effort with the ball in the first ODI against Bangladesh.

Trent Boult won the 'Player of the Match' award in the first ODI against Bangladesh at the University Oval in Dunedin and donated the prize money of $500 to his hometown club Otumoetai Cadets.

The left-arm seamer took the new ball for the Kiwis in the first match of the two-format series against Bangladesh. The visitors were restricted to just 131 after losing the toss as Boult took two wickets in the fifth over and began the attack.

He claimed the wickets of Tamim Iqbal (13 off 15) and Soumya Sarkar (0 off 3) in the same over to push Bangladesh on the backfoot 19/2 inside 5 overs. He later came back to bowl in the final stages of the innings and picked two more wickets.

The third and the fourth victims were Hasan Mahmud (1 off 5) and Taskin Ahmed (10 off 32). Boult's figures read 8.5-0-27-4. The BlackCaps chased down the total in 21.2 overs with 8 wickets in hand and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Boult won the Man of the Match award and donated the prize money of $500 to his club Otumoetai Cadets.
