It was on this day (March 16) in 2012, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar became the first and only player to smash 100 centuries in international cricket.

On the 9th anniversary of this remarkable milestone, Tendulkar cut a cake in the company of his India Legends teammates in Raipur.

Taking to Twitter, former India spinner Pragyan Ojha posted a video, in which Tendulkar can be seen cutting a cake as Yuvraj Singh and the other ex-Indian cricketers are rejoicing the occasion

Sachin and India’s other former cricketers are currently in Raipur to play a part in the Road Safety World Series.

“Different day but the reason remains the same. Celebrating @sachin_rt paaji’s 100th 100,” Ojha captioned the video.

Sachin Tendulkar had achieved the feat of 100 international hundreds in an Asia Cup match against Bangladesh in Mirpur.

Thanks to his 147-ball 114, India had posted 289/5 in 50 overs but unfortunately for Tendulkar, the landmark came in a losing cause as Bangladesh overhauled the target with four balls left.

In a career spanning 24 years, Sachin Tendulkar played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs for India, scoring the world record number of runs (15921 in Tests and 18426 in ODIs) and centuries (51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs). He also holds the record for most runs, centuries, fifties in ICC Cricket World Cup and is the most capped player in Tests and ODIs.
