“You not being here makes me cry,” says Hardik; shares emotional video of gifting a car to his father

Himanshu Pandya passed away last month due to a cardiac arrest.

Hardik Pandya and his brother Krunal were recently bereaved as they lost their father Himanshu to a massive cardiac arrest last month. Krunal and Hardik traveled to Mumbai to perform the last rites.

Hardik has been named in India’s squad for the home Test series against England and is in Chennai for the first two Test matches, with the first match to begin on February 5.

Hardik is known to wear his heart on his sleeve and is an emotional person and it showed when he posted a heartwarming video of his father Himanshu.

"Knowing you are not here makes me cry!" tweeted Hardik along with a video where his father is caught off-guard while car shopping in a showroom.

The video shows Hardik’s father looking at a car and then talking to Hardik on the phone, as the cricketer was on a tour of Sri Lanka, where he also made his Test debut, while one of the cricketer’s friend enquired whether the brand-new vehicle is a fit for the prospective customer. 

As Himanshu Pandya considered the specifications and looked unsure about finalizing his choice, the friend broke the news that the car had been gifted to Pandya senior by Hardik. A visibly jubilant father then speaks with the son over a video call. "Love you," says the father.
