Mohammed Siraj travelled to Australia with the Indian team with his father's unfufilled dream of watching him play Test cricket for India. Unfortunately, his father passed away but Siraj made sure he fulfilled the dream and made it memorable.

Siraj played 3 Tests against Australia - Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane - and picked more wickets than any other Indian bowler. He returned with 13 wickets in 6 wickets at less than 30 runs per wicket. He was one of the major contributors to one of Team India's biggest series victories away from home.

The 26-year-old returned home with a lot of adulation and respect. He drove straight to his father's grave from the airport. He went home, met his emotional family members and had home-cooked food after 5 months.

Siraj said, "I went to the graveyard. I entered my home, my mother started crying as soon as she saw me. I ate home-cooked food after a long time and it was really good to be back home. I dedicated my every wicket to my dad, I celebrated with Mayank Agarwal after taking wickets in the second innings of the Gabba Test, I dedicated my every wicket to dad."

"Before the series started, I never thought I would take five wickets. Because of the injuries, we had to up our game," he added.

After making his family proud by playing for RCB in the IPL and making a successful Test debut, he completed a rags-to-riches story. The son of an autorickshaw driver gifted himself a brand new BMW.
