Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar tore into the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the team’s dismal performance in the second Test of the ongoing series against New Zealand at Christchurch.

Pakistan was bowled out for 297 runs after being put in to bat first by New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who won the toss. Azhar Ali (93) and Mohammad Rizwan (61) were the standout performers with the bat, while Kyle Jamieson picked 5/69 for Kiwis.

However, the Pakistani bowlers proved to be ineffective as the Kiwis piled on 659/6d with Kane Williamson making 238 and Henry Nicholls (157) and Daryl Mitchell (102*) making merry against listless bowling.

Pakistan already lost Shan Masood for a duck, his second of the match, ending day 3 at 8/1, still, 354 runs behind and staring at an innings defeat.

Shoaib Akhtar shared a clip on Twitter, slamming the PCB for bringing in average players who play school-level cricket and embarrass the nation on the international stage.

"PCB's policies, they keep bringing in average players, they keep playing average players, they keep making average teams and will keep doing average work, leading to average results. Whenever Pakistan will play Test matches, they will be exposed," Shoaib said.

"They are playing school level cricket. And the management has made them school level cricketers. Now the board are thinking of again changing the management. Fine, but when will you change?" he asked the PCB.
