The year 2020 was a very cruel one for everyone across the globe as life came to a standstill from March to July of the year, thanks to COVID-19 virus breakout in Wuhan province of China.

In order to save its population and start rising the infrastructure of medical facilities, almost every nation in the world went into a strict lockdown for more than 4 months, which saw zero movement on common people across districts, states, countries as they were prohibited from stepping out of their houses.

India also suffered the same fate as shops, businesses and other sources of income suffered, while migrants travelled across foot to reach their home.

Sports wise as well, we saw cricket coming to a halt in March and only resuming in July. The IPL 2020 was played in empty stadiums in UAE, while players had to spend months away from their loved ones in strict bio-bubbles, which restricted their movements in outside world.

More than 83 million cases of coronavirus have been detected across the world and more than 1.8 million people lost their lives to this deadly virus. India saw more than 10.3 million cases with close to 150,000 deaths as well, though the graph of daily cases has been on steady decline for the past 2 months.

Seeing cricket coming back was a huge morale booster for the Indian public, who had to make do with Instagram chats and other entertainment that their favorite cricketers provided them during the lockdown.

Therefore, as the things are now getting back to the new normal, the Indian cricket fraternity took to Twitter to wish everyone, as the world steps into a new year of 2021, with new hopes, and positive thoughts.
