Indian cricket fraternity wishes Kapil Dev speedy recovery after news of heart attack 

The 61-year-old former India captain went through angioplasty on Friday.

Former India captain and all-rounder, Kapil Dev, on Friday (October 23) went through angioplasty, procedure of restoring blood flow through the artery, after suffering a heart attack. 

The development came to light after few journalists tweeted of the same.

"Legendary cricketer Kapil Dev @therealkapildev suffers heart attack, undergoes angioplasty at a hospital in Delhi," tweeted a Delhi-based journalist.  

Senior sports journalist Vikrant Gupta then confirmed to have learnt that Kapil is doing fine now. 

"Hearing about Kapil Paaji’s health. Can confirm he’s okay now," he tweeted. 

Kapil, the legendary 1983 World Cup-winning India skipper, played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs for the country. 

His flamboyant batsmanship, classical fast bowling and aggressive attitude inspired a generation of Indian cricketers to take up the sport. A complete original, the 61-year-old 'Haryana Hurricane' remains a hero to many. 

Upon learning that the man has had a heart attack, cricket fraternity sent their heartfelt wishes for Kapil's speedy recovery.
