Sehwag is the only Indian to score two triple hundreds in Test cricket.
After scoring a Test century on debut against South Africa in 2001, Sehwag became the first Indian to make 300 in a Test inning, a feat that came against Pakistan in Multan on the historic tour in 2004. He repeated the feat against South Africa in 2008, becoming one of the four batsmen to have more than one triple hundred in Tests after Sir Don Bradman, Brian Lara, and Chris Gayle.
His ODI career was full of zeal and amazing feats and he was part of India’s 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup wins and captained India in multiple matches. In fact, he was the first captain to score a double hundred in ODI cricket, scoring 219 against West Indies in 2011.
He ended his career with 8586 runs in 104 Tests and 8273 runs in 251 ODI matches with a combination of 38 centuries. His highest Test score was 319 and the highest ODI score was 219.
Today as he celebrates his 42nd birthday, Sehwag received birthday wishes from all cricket fraternity on Twitter.
