Zaheer Khan was famous for his yorkers and picked 610 wickets in international cricket.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has opened up about his former teammate and fast-bowling great Zaheer Khan's birthday mystery as he wished the latter on his “real” birthday on Thursday (8 October).
Not many know Zaheer’s actual birth date and even the former pacer has also kept it as mystery, as the cricketing world and fans celebrated his 42nd birthday on Wednesday (7th October).
However, Zaheer’s friend and former India teammate Tendulkar knows it very well and also asked him to spill the beans on his birthday mystery on Twitter while wishing him on his birthday on Thursday.
According to official records, Zaheer was born in Shrirampur, Maharashtra on October 7, but his actual birth date is October 8, 1978 and Tendulkar decided to wish him on his actual birth date.
Sharing a picture of him with Zaheer, Tendulkar wrote on Twitter: “Yahaan pe bhi reverse swing Zak! Ab bata bhi de logon ko, ki your birthday is today and not on the 7th! Wishing you a very happy birthday my friend.”
Meanwhile, the former India pacer – who played 309 matches and scalped 610 wickets in international cricket, is currently in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with Mumbai Indians (MI) as their Director of Cricket Operations for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
Well, Tendulkar’s claim was validated by Zaheer’s wife and actress Sagarika Ghatge, as she also wished her husband on Thursday with a number of adorable pictures on Instagram.
She wrote on Instagram: “To my best friend, my love and the most selfless person I know. Thank you for being you. Not only me but everyone knows I would be lost without you. Happy birthday husband. May you get everything you desire and more. Love you.”
