SP Balasubrahmanyam's songs were loved by everyone in many languages across India.
Popularly and lovingly known as SPB, he sang predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam films. Balasubrahmanyam made his debut as a playback singer in 1966 with Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna, a Telugu film.
He went on to sing for over five decades in multiple languages and for Hindi music lovers, he was the voice of Kamal Hassan and Salman Khan. His songs in movies like EK Duje ke Liye, Saagar, Maine Pyaar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, and many more remain immortal to this day.
He received Padma Shri in 2001 and Padma Bhushan in 2011. Apart from this, he won 6 National Awards for singing, one Filmfare Hindi award, and multiple Nandi, South Filmfare, Tamil Nadu State, and Karnataka State awards for his silken voice.
