Indian captain Virat Kohli, in a video shared by the BCCI on their official Twitter account, paid rich tributes to his predecessor MS Dhoni, who recently retired from international cricket.

Dhoni had passed on the Test captaincy to Virat in 2015 and limited-overs leadership in 2017. However, in the video, Virat Kohli says that words fall short in this moment, as he speaks about Dhoni.

Virat had made his international debut under MS Dhoni in 2008 and Test debut in 2011. He was part of the Indian team which won the 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy under Dhoni’s leadership and their bonding is known to the world.

ICC applauds MS Dhoni on a marvelous career

The current Indian skipper already congratulated Dhoni on his own official Twitter writing, “Every cricketer has to end his journey one day, but still, when someone you've gotten to know so closely announces that decision, you feel the emotion much more. What you've done for the country will always remain in everyone's heart...... but the mutual respect and warmth I've received from you will always stay in mine. The world has seen achievements, I've seen the person. Thanks for everything skip. I tip my hat to you

However, in the BCCI’s video, Kohli speaks about the friendship they shared, how he will remain grateful to Dhoni for believing in him, and that he will remain his captain forever.
