"You must have held those tears to say goodbye to your passion": Sakshi pens emotional post after MS Dhoni retires

MS Dhoni announced his retirement after a 15-year long international career.

India's 74th Independence Day on August 15, 2020, was going along normally, with social media buzzing to patriotic posts by the people and celebrities from all walks of life.

And then, at 19:29 hours IST, former Indian captain MS Dhoni changed all that by announcing that he has retired from international cricket. He shared a video highlighting some unforgettable and rather forgettable moments from his career, playing to the classic hindi song "main pal do pal ka shayar hoon".

Fans, teammates, opponents, film stars, politicians .. every person tried to put down in words a career that saw unprecedented highs individually and as a leader. The only captain to win all three major ICC events and a phenomenal batsman, particularly in white-ball cricket, who made his name as the best finisher the game has seen, just walked away into the sunset of his career in a moment.

MS Dhoni's wife Sakshi also made an emotional post on Instagram, congratulating her man on what he achieved in his career and for always giving his best to the game.

She wrote, "You should be proud of what you have achieved.
Congratulations on giving your best to the game.
I am proud of your accomplishments and the person you are!
I am sure you must have held those tears to say goodbye to your passion.
