Kohli was in a chat with his teammate Mayank Agarwal when he spilled the beans.
India skipper Virat Kohli talked about his mother's reaction when he started his fitness regime and a strict diet. Kohli said his mother wanted him to get chubby again because he looked weak.
It was a typical Indian mother's reaction from her and she wanted Kohli to eat more. She even thought Virat is sick whenever he looked lean, for which he worked very hard.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the video, which was the second teaser of the new episode of 'Open Nets with Mayank' on their official Twitter handle. "Moms be like. Listen in to what @imVkohli's mother thought of him when he started his fitness regime", they wrote.
In the video, Kohli responded to Mayank Agarwal's question and replied, "My mom used to tell me that I am becoming weak. I think that's a very regular thing any mother would say. Tu bada kamjor ho gaya hai, tu kuch khata hi nahi hai," Kohli's mother was concerned with his new fitness regime.

"They (Mothers) didn't understand the difference between having concern and having professionalism towards the sport you're playing. For them, if the child is not looking chubby, there's something wrong with him!", the Indian captain funnily said.
Kohli laughed and added his mother would tell him to eat more because he looked sick. "So I was always like I'm not sick! I'm doing this because I want to play! It was so difficult to convince her!", he said.
"It was funny at times but it was also annoying at times because you are following a regime. I would wake up and my mother would say, "Tu toh beemaar lag raha hai! (you're looking sick!). It was so tough when I would see something delicious on my table. But yeah, good times!"
