Indian cricket fraternity sends birthday wishes to Smriti Mandhana as she turns 24

Mandhana is regarded as one of the best batswomen in the current generation.

India opener Smriti Mandhana is celebrating her 24th birthday today (July 18). Having made her international debut in 2013, Mandhana has come a long way.

The southpaw is regarded as one of the best batswomen in the current generation and is placed at the No. 4 position in ODI batting rankings. She has 2025 ODI and 1716 T20I runs to her name, including four centuries in the 50-over format.

She has also played a key role in India’s journey to the finals of 2017 Women’s World Cup and 2019 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Mandhana became the youngest T20I captain for India when she led the women's team against England in the first T20I in February 2019.

Coming to the awards and recognition, International Cricket Council (ICC) crowned Smriti with the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint award for the best female cricketer of the year in 2018. The BCCI conferred her with the Arjuna Award last year.
