WATCH- Michael Holding breaks down while talking about the Black Lives Matter movement

Incident happened prior to the start of the first Test between England and the West Indies at Southampton.

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement started due to the tragic passing away of George Floyd, an African-American citizen has captured the imagination of everyone across the globe. Floyd was subjected to excessive force by police officers during an arrest, including placing a knee on his throat, resulting in his death.

The BLM movement has brought back the plight of black individuals who still face discrimination and racism all over the world due to the color of their skin.

This movement has led to people being enlightened about this atrocity and even cricketers have started to share their experiences of facing racism, with West Indies’ Daren Sammy being the first to speak out on the issue.

Now Windies fast bowling legend Michael Holding opened up about the sensitive issue during a broadcast conversation prior to the start of the first Test between England and the West Indies in Southampton.

While speaking about the issue, Holding broke down in tears on live television following an extremely powerful video tribute to Black Lives Matter, produced by Sky Sports Cricket.

In the video, former England women’s cricketer Ebony Rainford-Brent, who breaks down in tears, saying she always has to prove herself to other people as the first black player to ever represent the England women’s team.

Holding, in the video, speaks about the treatment and challenges West Indies players faced on tours to England as well as the magnitude of the South African rebel tours under apartheid.

He also chatted with fellow pundits Ian Ward and Nasser Hussain on live TV about how important education is in tackling racism in societies across the world – and then he started crying.
